Halloween NADA atrasado... Bem, meu host anda com boas informações natalinas...eu, sempre muito curiosa, fui especular como era a comemoração de natal deles. Eis a resposta: Christmas Eve is a really big deal here too. Most of us go to church and then it is a pretty common tradition to light candles and sing “Silent Night… Holy Night”
Lots of people go to parties and/or have big meals at home. A limited number of families let their kids open one gift on the 24th and then the rest get opened on the morning of the 25th. Most people though do just open all the gifts on the 25th.
The meal varies by family. Some families have no tradition. Hams are probably the most popular, but people serve other stuff too such as turkey or roast beef. (Some people might do lamb or goose, but those are not as common.)
Americans eat a lot of beef in general, followed by chicken and then pork. Some people eats lots of fish and seafood while others eat none. Turkey is eaten, but usually as white meat on sandwiches or as the entire bird for special occasions. (i.e. Thanksgiving) Goose and duck are only rarely eaten (although Cornish Game Hens are a little more common.) Jeez, onde estão os chocotones? - Postado por: Ly. às 11h38 [ ] [ envie esta mensagem ]
